Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She founded The Huffington Post and the chief executive officer of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington works as an author, philanthropist, television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. Born in Greece Arianna Huffington emigrated to England with her family when she was 16 years old. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA Degree in Economics. The first graduate from outside the UK to be elected the president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. The success of her conservative columnist was consolidated after she completed her studies. When the Huffington Post was launched The Huffington Post a few months later, she launched an online voice portal that offered critiques of the state of the nation's politics. Arianna was able to attract many prominent contributors to share their thoughts on culture and politics. Arianna became famous after she decided to stand as an independent candidate in the California Recall election to succeed the former governor Davis. Alongside this she also led the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as the most influential women in media gaining 12th position in the listing and the following year, the Guardian included her in the top 100 list of media. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she became the president of this group. The acquisition included a number of AOL products at the time such as Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos the management and journalism consultant. While she was close to her father, her connection to her mom shaped the course of her entire life. She displayed leadership qualities even in her early years. When she moved to England, she was 16, to pursue her education and was enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university she joined Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first woman president, and also the sole foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of master's in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a columnist critic, and a television host. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on an edition of Face the music.
